Certifications & Designations

As there are numerous reasons on who to hire as a Realtor®, early on I decided that I needed to gain as much knowledge as I could about Real Estate through education, as the knowledge from experience would come with time.

Definition of Knowledge:   facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

This is why I haveachieved the following 10 Designations and Certifications, and plan on adding more as time allows.

1. GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute)

The GRI is my way to stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth knowledge on technical subjects as well as the fundaments of Real Estate.  



2. ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative)

The ABR was designed for Real Estate buyer agents who focus directly with buyer clients, by obtaining valuable Real Estate education that elevates my skills and knowledge in the eyes of home buyers.

3. SRS (Seller Representative Specialist)

"The Essential Credential for Seller Representation!"

The SRS Designation is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and recognize Real Estate professionals who demonstrate the knowledge and skills essential in professionally and ethically representing sellers.

4. SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialists)

The SRES designees, like myself, are REALTORS qualified to address the needs of home buyers and sellers age 50+; that have demonstrated the necessary knowledge and expertise to counsel clients age 50+ through major financial and lifestyle transition in relocating, refinancing or selling the Family home.

5. MRP (Military Relocation Professional)

When military staff and their families relocate, the services of a Real Estate Professional who understands their needs and timetables makes the transfer easier, faster and less stressful. The MRP certification focuses on educating Real Estate professionals about working with current and former military service members to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs and take full advantage of military benefits and support.

6. e-PRO

The e-PRO certification program teaches members how to effectively use Real Estate technology to assist their clients. The technology changed, and is still changing, so I, as a REALTOR, wanted to prove to my clients that I use the most advanced Real Estate technology to provide exceptional service by obtaining my e-PRO certification.

7. PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor)

The PSA certification is designed to enhance my skills in pricing properties, creating CMAs (Comparative Market Analysis), working with appraisers, and guiding my clients through the anxieties and misperceptions they often have about home values. In addition to this designation I also hold the Broker's Price Opinion Resource designation and I teach a seminar on using NAR's REALTORS Property Resource tool at Rector Hayden.

8. SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource)

The SFR was designed to give me a framework for understanding how to; direct distressed sellers to finance, tax and legal professionals, qualify sellers for short sales, develop a short sale package, negotiate with lenders, limit risks and protect buyers.

9. BPOR (Broker Price Opinion Resource)

The current housing market presents many challenges to our Real Estate industry, few more important than valuation. Evaluating properties depends more than ever on professional expertise and competence, the best use of technology, and a commitment to approach the valuation assignment from all pertinent perspectives. By obtaining my BPOR certification I know I have the knowledge to valuate a property, whether it's to list your house or assist you in purchasing a home.  



10. NHC (New Home Construction)

With the NHC I obtained the skills and knowledge on how to understand the development and new home process works and the types of services Buyers ofnew home construction need, by gaining an appreciation for the business of new homes from the perspective of the builder. Understanding my roles and responsibilities of the Buyer's representative were the Buyer client pursues new home construction. With the knowledge learned I can explain to the Buyer how new homes are constructed from groundbreaking to walk-throughs, inspections and closing on their new home. I'm also in the position of assisting clients in evaluating the pros and cons of purchasing new construction versus existing homes.
